This week I find some humour in the personification of #vanlife.

Behind camera “oh no, it’s #vanlife. Probably wondering if they can park here.”
(Shot from the person I’m talking to’s angle.)
(slowly rolls down window) “Hey do you mind if I park here!?”
(no hesitation) “Sweet! I’ll just stay for the next 2-3 weeks treating this space as if I own it.”
“Hey you gotta check out this van!”
“I’ll give you a tour, but first you gotta watch an ad.”

INTRO

(into camera)
I don’t like being tied down, the only thing I’m committed to is freedom, the great outdoors and questionable hygiene!
I just love nature man, and will drive this gas gunsling cargo van all through it.

(off camera)
“Hey you gotta check out this van!”

(into camera)
Home is where you park I alway say… unless it’s at the mechanics, because then you have no home.

(off camera)
“Do you mind if I park here?!”

(into camera)
(pulls out phone) If you’re not following me on instagram by the way you’re really missing out! One quick search and Ill completely clog up your social media with pictures of landscapes, vans, and girls butts in bathing suits.

(off camera)
“Hey check out this sunset through van doors with feet in it!”

(into camera)
You should seriously envy my life, even though I use a Gatorade bottle at a toilet. I don’t even like Gatorade, what comes out of that container is grosser then what I put in it, but their bottles have the widest opening. Hard to believe a lifestyle this appealing is often illegal!

“Hey let me give you a tour of this van!”

Look how little I need to live! And you think you need a shower, that’s why baby wipes were invented silly!
My clothes may look like I don’t clean them because, I don’t. They wash themselves, in a bucket of soapy water while driving down a gravel road.

I don’t believe in owning material possessions like a fancy clothes, a Tesla or deodorant. My most treasured possessions are my memories with friends and loved ones, if only my cannabis intake hadn’t robbed me of them.

“I’m living my best life and don’t feel disconnected from society whatsoever.”

Seeing Hollywood continue to use vans for criminal activity is insensitive and it offends me. Yes I’ve got a horrific past, but since I started trending there’s no longer a need to feel uncomfortable when an unmarked van is parked outside your house, even when they get out and sit in your front yard to watch a movie projected on the side of the van.

“Hey check out the before and after of this van.”

I’m always smiling because I’m living the dream. This isn’t staged just for pictures. You’re not always happy because you life sucks, and the only way to fix it is to pack it all up into a Westvalia.

“Look how happy I am! I hang out in coffee shops for hours and feel no shame!”

Did you know everyone human being is born with the ability to remote a Van.

I’m not about making you leave your comfort zone, I’m about expanding it. So embrace that feeling of wanderlust because there’s a whole world out there for you to explore… and a van will take you there, even though 71% of the planet is water and vans don’t float.
