FINALLY making that custom Nomad map - Dev Diaries #8 [Age of Mythology: Retold]

Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with the official Age of Mythology/Age of Empires team. This is the development of a mod.

In case you guys are wondering: the mod is called "Awot's Otherworldly Maps." It is completely vanilla+ and can be played online with people who don't have the mod. This means having the mod is completely noninvasive to your game. It gives you 28 randomly generating skirmish maps to play with alone or online. Additionally, it can be downloaded for free in the in-game mod browser, where you will receive a notification telling you to update your mod once my new update is ready. The beta of for the next update will be pushed live around February 10th, with the official update expected by June 30th at the latest.

Age of Mythology is an RTS game where you worship a deity and have them strike down your foes. I love this game so much, and the game regularly goes on sale, so consider picking it up and all of its DLC.

For this one I just have basic gameplay running in the background of a brand new custom Nomad map I made as I quickly detail what kind of challenges I went through to make it and what kind of content it holds within.

I've fallen behind on my modding workload due to how long this took. I still hope to update the mod by Febuary 10th, but I am not as confident about that timeline anymore. It may take an extra week to get it out.

The video was originally dragging past 25 minutes, but I did a redo, so I would whine less, but as a result, I also may have accidently cut out important details from this one. I also don't have that much beta footage since I was so focused on actually getting the map to work in the first place that when I finally got the basic foundation working, I forgot to click record and kept working on it.

The Dev Diary series is expected to come to a halt soon, so prepare for that. Hopefully, I can do some other content on the channel for Age of Mythology. Thanks to the 3 people who regularly watch this series. I am happy someone on this planet enjoyed watching behind the scenes to how the amps are made.
