Making one of my BEST maps yet - Dev Diaries Ep. 6 [Age of Mythology: Retold]

Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with the offical Age of Mythology/Age of Empires team. This is development of a mod.

In case you guys are wondering: the mod is called "Awot's Otherworldly Maps". It is completely vanilla+ and can be played online with people who don't have the mod. This means having the mod is completely noninvasive to your game. It gives you 28 more skirmish maps to play with alone or online. Additionally, it can be downloaded for free in the in-game mod browser where you will receive a notification telling you to update your mod once my new update 2.0 is available. Update 2.0 will not be coming out until June. Keep in mind I do this for free as a hobby.

Age of Mythology is an RTS game where you worship a deity and have them strike down your foes. I love this game so much and the game regularly goes on sale so consider picking it up and all of its DLCs.

In this video I show off a brand new map I am working on and I think this is one of the best maps I have made visually yet. Featuring a surrounding forest, a unique forest spawning mechanic, an awesome looking crater thing, and 3 random biomes! Watch in this video as how I developed them and what features I packed into it.

This is probably going to be the latest new map for a while. I will now be slowing down production and focusing on refining already existing maps. Most of them will get visual overhaul but some might even get new gameplay mechanics, so be on the lookout! So there might be 2 more Dev Diaries after this one and that is about it. You can expect to get a sample of what's coming by February, but the official update is not out until late June. Of course there might be delays, and my schedule is matching the official Age of Mythology's content schedule.
