A look at how Joe Louis used the right hand. Louis would always step up and over to the left when throwing the right hand, whether he set it up with the jab or the hook, or even a lead right Louis was always stepping up and over as opposed to stepping in.
When throwing the right hand Louis would dip his lead shoulder taking his head off centre line, this meant he was able to avoid the counter punch because his head was not on the centre line. A technical genius well schooled by arguably the greatest coach of them all, Jack Chappie Blackburn.
