I've had a few comments about how to use the shoulder roll as a southpaw and there's none better than Pernell Whitaker to have a look at.
Some interesting things to note in his defence, the high guard was used a fair amount (not sure if it was because it was his first fight at 140lbs) there was also lead hand parrying and cross arm defence as well.
As always with Whitaker, his footwork and pivoting combined into his defence was exceptional.
