Surge Copper is a junior mining company that is primarily focused on its large land package located in central British Columbia. The company is focused on the aggressive exploration of its Ootsa-Huckleberry-Berg district. The district includes the company’s Ootsa and Berg properties.
The Ootsa property is an advanced stage exploration project which is a NI 43-101 compliant resource of copper, gold, molybdenum, and silver. The property is located adjacent to Imperial Metals’ Huckleberry Copper Mine. Surge Copper also has a 70% interest in the Berg Property owned by Centerra Gold. The property is a NI 43-101 compliant resource of copper, molybdenum, and silver. The Ootsa and Berg properties give Surge a dominant land position in the Ootsa-Huckleberry-Berg district and control over four advanced porphyry deposits.

The company has been focused to date on the consolidation of its land package in British Columbia which boasts nearby infrastructure owned by Imperial Metals. The company believes that its Ootsa-Huckleberry-Berg district has the potential to be one of the largest porphyry systems in British Columbia.

The company raised CAD$ 14 million in June 2021 with the company management contributing approximately a quarter to half of the amount. Surge Copper is not planning any additional acquisitions in the area to further its consolidation objectives and will rather focus on regional exploration of the district. The company is currently planning a 30,000 m drill program split over 4 to 5 different areas. The company may investigate strategic partnerships in the future.
Surge Copper believes that being based in the British Columbian mining space is ideal for the impending copper demand increase, which is fuelled by amongst others climate change and urbanization.
