On the 2nd of November 2025, AB608 Passchendaele and DA1410 lead an excursion from Paekakariki - Woodville and return. There was also a shuttle run from Woodville - Ashhurst and back dubbed the 'Ashhurst Flyer' which was a special trip through the gorge and for people to ride the train and enjoy the scenery.
On the return trip we chase the AB as far as Ashhurst where it will be light steamed back home to Paekakariki from Palmerston North.
A huge thanks to Steam Incorporated for organising this excursion and for a friend of mine who helped make this chase possible.
