Season 2 Episode 1 : Journey to Okhreni (Sundarijal) Nepal Rastriya Secondary School Students

Описание: In this video, we take you along on our beautiful and refreshing journey to Okhreni via Sundarijal, starting right from Nepal Rastriya Secondary School. Our small adventure group consisted of 11 students (6 boys and 5 girls), full of excitement, laughter, and energy as we explored one of the most scenic hiking routes on the outskirts of Kathmandu.

📍 Journey Route
Nepal Rastriya Secondary School → New Road → Sundarijal Bus Park → Okhreni
We first traveled from our school to New Road, one of Kathmandu’s busiest commercial hubs. From there, we took another bus ride to Sundarijal Bus Park, the main gateway to the Shivapuri–Nagarjun National Park.

After reaching Sundarijal, our real adventure began on foot!
🥾 Hiking Details (Sundarijal to Okhreni)
Starting Point: Sundarijal Bus Park
Destination: Okhreni
Distance: Approx. 3 kilometers
Hiking Time: 1.5 – 2 hours (leisurely pace)
Elevation at Sundarijal: ~1,460 meters
Elevation at Okhreni: ~1,750 meters
Elevation Gain: ~290 meters
The trail slowly climbs through stone steps, dense forest, waterfalls, and peaceful streams. It’s a perfect short hike for beginners and student groups.

🌿 Interesting Facts about Sundarijal
Sundarijal is the main entry point to Shivapuri–Nagarjun National Park, a protected area rich in biodiversity.
It is a major water source for Kathmandu Valley, supplying drinking water through pipelines.
The area has a hydropower station built during the Rana period.
The famous Bagmati River originates near this region.
Known for its waterfalls, fresh air, and lush greenery, Sundarijal is a favorite weekend escape for locals.

🌰 Interesting Facts about Okhreni
The name “Okhreni” comes from “Okhar” (walnut) trees that once grew abundantly in the area.
Okhreni is a popular resting and camping spot on the way to Chisapani.
It offers a calm environment with forest views, fresh mountain air, and bird sounds.
Many hikers stop here for snacks, tea, and photos before continuing deeper into Shivapuri.
