The TX-Loop 1 Freeway, known locally as the MoPac Expressway, is a very unique stretch of freeway. Originally constructed in the early 1970s, it was built around the Missouri Pacific Railroad tracks to minimize the impact on neighborhoods, especially near Downtown. Here we see a northbound manifest running through this unique trackage!
I came out to get this video when I saw a northbound lined through on ATCS. I have wanted to get a shot like this for some time, so I am glad I finally did! For this video, I wanted to add some historical context to this unique trackage as well. The train itself was also pretty strange, being an unusually short manifest with an AC44CW leading an FXE SD70ACe! I barely had enough time to cross the busy road to film the train from behind.
This is the Hancock Drive overpass in Austin, TX.
