Doing some research for a poem - about modern people-smuggling and various migrant situations - involved reading some of the most harrowing material I have ever come across.
Now I have written this jazz song, based on my poem, about those who find themselves in the hands of smuggling gangs, crammed precariously into inflatable boats on the high seas. Here it is.
