Firestorm | Wake Up Call | Advanced animatronic puppetry test

Описание: Firestorm has been back in development this year with a huge amount of work completed on the written and design material for the series. Alongside this work, and with virtually zero budget, we shot a very simple test using a new puppet with brand new animatronics - presented here as a short minisode: Wake Up Call starring Gethin Anthony and Nicholas Briggs.

This test was part of the process of further developing the Firestorm puppets with our potential in-house head of puppetry for the series: Chris Clarke. Chris is an amazing animatronics expert and puppet builder, and he was keen to work with us to enhance the puppets - particularly in terms of the expression and lip-sync ability.

Our friends at Mackinnon and Saunders did a phenomenal job on the puppets for the pilot minisode, and we hope they'll do us the honour of building our hero characters for the series, but for production, we'll need to have a head of animatronics in-house and Chris wanted to prove what he could do... and he did just that!

We had fun doing this and despite extreme budgetary limitations (enough to buy the crew coffees and bacon rolls), we turned out a nice little proof of concept video that's worked well to engage broadcasters and streamers - showing them what might be possible in terms of emoting and lipsync through animatronics alone.
