The Fellsman is a demanding 62 mile route through the Yorkshire Dales National Park with 3800m of vertical ascent. This was its 61st running and my opportunity to redeem my DNF from the previous year. The event is amazingly well organised with 25 checkpoints providing food, support and encouragement along the way. It is rightly described as iconic, classic and a unique challenge to experienced runners and walkers. Take lightly at your peril.
