Located in the county of Kent, and around six miles northwest of Maidstone, is the town of Snodland.
Geographically, Snodland is situated along the western bank of the River Medway. Its recorded history as a settlement dates back to 838 AD in a charter by King Egbert of Wessex, granting land to the Bishop of Rochester.
Just east of the town centre is the Parish Church of All Saints. This dates from the 12th century, with additions up to the 15th century and some 19th century restoration. The church is Grade I listed.
In 1856 the railway arrived in Snodland courtesy of the South Eastern Railway. The station remains in use today and is situated on the Medway Valley line which runs between Strood and Paddock Wood.
