Only days after they recorded Mance Lipscomb for the first time, Chris Strachwitz and Mack McCormick, with Paul Oliver, made their way to Sealy, Texas, some fifty miles south of Mance's hometown of Navasota. There, on August 13, 1960, they discovered Jewell Long (1908-1975), a local juke joint musician proficient on both guitar and piano. Unlike Mance however, Long recorded only once, producing four titles—two on guitar, two on piano—issued on this now rare EP published only in England on the VJM label.
