My radio only returns the sound of breathing,
my own, or someone else’s.

The ship that descended last night wasn’t a ship.
It pulsed, alive, as if the metal itself was trying to dream.
I saw its reflection before I saw its body,
a mass of tendrils, light, and silence.

I thought it would speak.
Instead, it listened.

Every movement I make feels observed.
The air thickens when I speak.
The horizon folds in on itself like paper soaked in rain.
I’m beginning to think it’s not the world that’s changing,
it’s me.

There are shapes inside the mist now.
Not human.
Not hostile.
Just… aware.
I can feel them waiting for me to understand something that no language has ever contained.
