Please ignore the live Instagram users' chat messages if you can, they're kinda annoying. The first couple minutes of this upload here are relevant prerecorded videos called "Instagram Stories" from her feed from before the livestream, which I included for completeness' sake, same also at the end.
Lara McDonnell (plays Holly Short in Disney's Artemis Fowl movie) did a 40-minute live Q+A broadcast on 5-15-20. Unfortunately, because of time zones, I didn't know about it until the minute I woke up and checked my phone and saw the notification that she had gone live 25 minutes ago. I was therefore only able to view and record the last 15 minutes, since she did not make the live broadcast available for later viewing on her page. Also, apparently her phone disconnected at the end, so it's a sudden ending, after which I include her followup video explaining as such. Also, for the entire video I did manage to grab, she was answering questions submitted before my recording began. I realized this later, so you'll see me type a couple of things here. Sorry about the keyboard overlay.
This video is vertical, and looks great when viewed in the YouTube app on a phone in full screen, vertically. If you're having trouble making it display vertical in full-screen mode in the app, try pausing the video, entering the active app switcher, and then bringing the youtube app back to the forefront. For me, that force kicks youtube into displaying vertically for some reason.
Only a couple of pieces of information about the movie are mentioned here, there was nothing "juicy" about it, at least in the part I saw. This is mostly just a harmless q+a stream about her interests and things. But this was actually the first time she had spoken on camera in any capacity regarding the movie.
Anyways. My phone happens to be running Android 9, and what searching I've done on the topic has revealed to me that internal/source audio recording by screen recording apps was not possible (or at least very hard) until Android 10. The recorder app I happen to use only records audio via using the phone's external mic to pick up whatever is playing through the phone's external speakers, and also therefore any ambient noise. So, the sound quality isn't great, and if you hear any unusual ambient noise in this video, that's probably me shifting my sitting position. At one point, my phone's snoozed alarm goes off, and it was super loud, so I removed the audio from those few seconds of the video. Whatever she said in those few seconds is lost. At a completely different point, my external alarm clock blared for a few seconds, so I removed the audio from the video for those few seconds and added an overlay of the few words she said while the alarm was going, to save your ears. There were also a couple of buffering issues (probably my internet's fault) so I had to back out and re-enter the stream a couple times, but it's largely a smooth recording.
This upload is a part of my basic philosophy of "Instagram is usually a great platform, except for the fact that it deletes content that is definitely going to be historically interesting some day." I mean no disrespect, copyright infringement, or moral attack on Lara McDonnell, Disney, Eoin Colfer, or Instagram by uploading this. As a fan of the Artemis Fowl series, I just want to have as much content viewable on the free permanent internet as possible, especially when it can do some good. There were only 50-60 viewers when this was live. I also uploaded Josh Gad reading the first Artemis Fowl book (watch it, it's great) because it was also an Instagram livestream that went away. I also think (and hope) that this actress is going places, so it'll be more and more relevant as time goes on.
If anyone happened to catch the whole thing live, let me know if anything interesting was said in the 25mins I missed.
