Student Loan Presentation
PROJECT STEPS
1. You work with Kevin Wong, a loans officer in the Student Loan Department at Pacific University in San Diego, California. Kevin will be delivering a presentation to prospective students about the types of student loans available to them, along with the loan eligibility criteria. He has started creating some of the slides for the presentation and asks you to enhance them with shapes, SmartArt, and other design elements.
Begin by centering the title text ("Basic Student Eligibility Criteria") on Slide 1.
2. With Slide 1 still displaying, bold the title text and then insert www.cengage.com as a hyperlink to the next slide ("Residency Requirements").
3. Remaining on Slide 1, use the Convert to SmartArt command on the Home tab to convert the numbered list into the Vertical Block List SmartArt graphic located in the List category. Change the SmartArt style to Moderate Effect located in the Best Match for Document area, as shown in Figure 1.

4. You want to give the loans officer director two different layouts for the numbered list and then allow her to choose the slide she wants to use in her presentation. In Slide Sorter view duplicate Slide 1. On the new Slide 2, change the SmartArt layout to Horizontal Bullet List located in the List category. Apply the Inset SmartArt style located in the 3-D area, as shown in Figure 2.

5. Insert a new Slide 3 using the Blank layout. On this new slide, insert the Oval shape located in the Basic Shapes area. Proportionally resize the shape to a height of 3" and a width of 3". Display the Rulers and Guides, and then align this shape so that the right edge is 2" to the left of center and the bottom edge is at 0".
6. With Slide 3 still displaying, copy the shape you just created. Paste it on the slide directly under the first shape so that the right edge is 2" to the left of center and the top edge is at 0". Change the outline weight of the two shapes to 6 point and then add the Perspective Upper Left shadow effect in the Perspective category.
7. Remaining on Slide 3, insert the file Support_PPT365_EOM2-2_Dollar.png as a picture fill in the top shape. Then insert the file Support_PPT365_EOM2-2_Diploma.jpg in the bottom shape, as shown in Figure 3.

8. With Slide 3 still displaying, insert the file Support_PPT365_EOM2-2_Student.jpg and then resize it to a width of 10.4". Align the picture so it fills the right portion of the slide to the top edge and right edge. Send the picture to the back of the slide, as shown in Figure 4.

9. With Slide 3 still displaying, group all the objects except the footer text.
10. You decide that Slide 4, the final slide, will not be included in this presentation, so delete it from the slide deck.
11. Open the Header and Footer dialog box and add the slide number and the date and time to all slides. Then edit the footer text so it reads Pacific University Student Loan Presentation.
12. Apply the Peel Off Transition to all slides and then apply the Left Effect Option.
In Slide Sorter view, your presentation should look like the Final Figure on the following page. Save your changes, close the presentation, and exit PowerPoint. Follow the directions on the website to submit your completed project.
