PROJECT STEPS
1. In your role as volunteer coordinator for the Horizon Soccer Club in a small town outside of Toronto, ON, you develop a presentation to describe volunteer activities to new parents interested in having their children join one of the club teams. Begin by modifying the Quotable theme applied to the presentation as follows:
a. Customize the color of Text/Background—Light 1 (currently White, Text 1 by changing the color to Gold, Accent 4, Lighter 80%). [Mac Hint – In the Colors Window, choose RGB Sliders and enter the Hex Color # E9F7F9.]
b. Save the custom theme color as Horizon. (Hint: Do not include the period.)
2. On the title slide, modify the background style of the slide as follows:
a. Change the fill to Solid fill.
b. Change the color to Dark Teal, Accent 1, Darker 50%.
3. On Slide 2 ("Our Volunteers"), hide the background graphics.
4. With Slide 2 ("Our Volunteers") still displaying, change the Transparency of the picture in the slide background to 15%.
5. On Slide 3 ("Who Are Our Volunteers?"), remove the action button settings applied to the picture of the soccer coach with her team.
6. On Slide 4 ("Programs & Camps"), add a hyperlink action setting to the SmartArt diagram that goes to the next slide in the presentation.
7. On Slide 5 ("Youth Programs"), animate the gold, red, and green arrows as follows:
a. Change the direction of the animation applied to the gold arrow so that the arrow enters the slide from the Left.
b. Animate the red arrow using the Circle preset motion path. [Mac Hint – Choose the Basic Shapes motion path and the Circle motion will be chosen by default.]
c. Add a trigger to the green arrow so that the animation occurs when Title 1 is clicked.
8. On Slide 6 ("Volunteer Role"), make the soccer ball picture into an action button that plays the Whoosh sound when clicked.
9. On Slide 7 ("Application Form"), make the text "Fill in a Form to Apply!" a hyperlink to the file Support_PPT19_4b_Application.docx.
10. On Slide 8 ("Application Process"), use the guides to position the objects as follows:
a. Display the guides.
b. Move the gold oval and the green oval shapes so that the top edge of each object is even with the horizontal guide.
c. Remove the guides.
11. On Slide 9 ("Soccer Rules"), add a hyperlink action setting to the diamond shape that goes to the URL http://www.cengage.com
12. On Slide 10 ("Coaching Responsibilities"), change the slide background to a pattern fill as follows:
a. Apply the Vertical Stripes: Light pattern.
b. Change the foreground color to Dark Teal, Accent 1, Darker 25%.
c. Change the background color to Dark Teal, Accent 1, Darker 50%.
13. On Slide 11 ("Other Resources"), add a hyperlink to the text "More Information" so that the address is www.cengage.com
14. In Slide Sorter View, select all the slides, then change the Advance Slide timing for each slide in the presentation to 4 seconds.
15. Prepare the presentation for distribution by setting up the presentation for browsing by an individual.
In Slide Sorter view, your presentation should look like the Final Figure on the following page. Save your changes, close the presentation, and exit PowerPoint. Follow the directions on the SAM website to submit your completed project.
