Today was my 191st personal Parkrun and the 149th here at Watermead Country Park being established in September 2021.

This is a different take on my usual Parkrun videos where I usually upload a timelapse of the course, normally lasting about 3 minutes, but here I show you the entire course in real time.

This is one of the fastest Parkrun courses in the UK, ranking 28/835 putting it in the top 5% for speed with a standard scratch score of 1.4 in the 2025 rankings.

The course here is relatively flat and involves a loop of Merrick's lake, followed by almost 2 loops of Lear's Lake. The only real elevation on the course comes in the form of a small bridge on Lear's Lake which you cross twice in total.

The facilities at Watermead Country Park are very good, with parking right near the start (places are limited), toilets about 200m from the start and a coffee van in the car park near the start.

My plan today, was not to max out, but to push the pace at around tempo pace, as I build towards my half marathon season in April and May.

The course footage was recorded using the ‪@insta360‬ Go 3S and the pre and post run were recorded using the Apple iPhone 15 Pro.
