The Rand firmed today amid speculation that it was due to ANC members declining parliamentary positions.
These include outgoing minister Nomvula Mokonyane, deputy President, David Mabuza, former minister Malusi Gigaba - all of whom have been fingered in corruption..
Mabuza has said that he first wants to make representations to the ANC's integrity committee that flagged him among problematic candidates.
The ANC has had its fair share of integrity issues, highlighted by various commissions of inquiry.
And it has faced many questions about what powers its Integrity committee actually has.
