This presentation outlines a comprehensive framework for integrating artificial intelligence into family history research without compromising historical truth by relying on the Genealogical Proof Standard (GPS). It highlights the evolving role of the genealogist from a passive data gatherer to a "forensic auditor" who actively governs AI work products. To help researchers navigate challenges like algorithmic bias and the fabrication of non-existent ancestors, the slides introduce a five-grade AI Source Reliability Scale alongside the core CRAIGEN principles of accuracy, disclosure, and privacy. Finally, it provides highly structured "master prompts" designed to force AI to analyze evidence rigorously, highlight conflicts, and act as a reliable assistant rather than a source of hallucinated data.
