(The BEST ZF I've ever heard!) Preserved Wilts & Dorset DAF SB220 Optare Delta: L504 AJT

Описание: Back around May last year, An Exercise In Oddity hosted the Recreating The Wilts And Dorset event - Featuring various Wilts And Dorset (and related) vehicles on a route between Amesbury and Marlborough in Wiltshire.

My first spin of the day, Was this fantastic DAF powered Optare Delta - One of I believe only four left in the country now. She was new to Wilts & Dorset in August 1993 as their 3504, Before passing into the Driver Training fleet as 5504 for a time in 2012/2013, Now as the company was slowly rebranding in that area to Salisbury Reds as it's known today. It was sadly sold for scrap not long after, and ended up hidden at the back of a scrapyard as a source of spare parts, however, luckily, it was gotten to before the entire bus was stripped in around September 2015. She was rescued from the corner later that month, and was impressively returned to good health in a very fast amount of time, making it's first appearance in Preservation in May 2016.

She was stored from 2018 to allow a full overhaul to take place, from which she emerged in 2022, Fully restored into as new specification, Being a regular fixture at rallies throughout 2022/3/4, although she has now since been stored again over the past year, but I'm sure it'll return soon.

Enjoy by far the BEST ZF I've heard in my entire time doing buses, On a trip through the heart of Wiltshire!
