Our first ever bay trip in the DIY Apollo Seahorse rebuild — powered by a 1978 Evinrude 115HP V4!
We launched from Murrays Beach, Jervis Bay, spotted a mother whale and her calf, and had a few stressful moments with water leaks — but the boat held up and we still managed to catch some small fish and a banjo shark.
This was a complete budget shed build that’s finally hit the ocean. The goal of this trip was to test how she handles open water, see what still needs fixing, and just enjoy being out there after months of hard work.
Spotting the whales up close was unreal — the calf was playful and the mother kept breaching just off the bow!
