Hello everyone, and welcome back to another video. Today, we will be driving from Chester, CA, to Lassen Volcanic National Park, on state routes CA-36 & CA-89, which are known as the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway! Lassen Volcanic National Park is one of the 63 established national parks across the United States. It's located in Northeastern California and is home to one of the largest preservation of volcanic phenomena, only coming after Yellowstone National Park, hence giving the park the title of “California's Yellowstone”. Some of these features include boiling mudpots, a snow-capped volcano, and boiling pools! In this video, we are starting at Chester, CA on CA-36, a small town on the shores of Lake Almanor, known for its lumber production, and as being a hub for Lassen National Park. This roughly 32-mile section of highway comprises both CA-36 and CA-89, as both state highways share a small section of the same road. We end the video at the Lassen National Park Southwest Entrance station, which is known as the Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center. So, I hope you enjoyed this 4k scenic drive in Northern California's Cascade Range, and please leave a like and subscribe to AKTheTraveler for more awesome road trips, including my upcoming drive of a continuation of the journey into Lassen Volcanic National Park on the 30-mile Lassen Peak Highway!
