Описание: Welcome back to another video. Today, join me as we embark on a scenic Winter drive from Groveland, California To Yosemite National Park via CA-120 East, known as the Big Oak Flat Road! Yosemite National Park, California’s first state park and one of the earliest national parks in the U.S., is renowned for its giant ancient sequoia trees and towering waterfalls. Highway 120 is a scenic east-west highway that traverses California's San Joaquin Valley and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, serving as one of the primary entrances to Yosemite NP for drivers coming from the SF Bay Area via the Big Oak Flat Entrance. The highway begins as a freeway in the Central Valley city of Manteca, then heading into the Sierra Nevada Foothills and into Yosemite National Park. After entering Yosemite, CA-120 is known as Big Oak Flat Road as it heads towards the Crane Flat and Tuolumne Grove. This is the point where the highway diverts from Big Oak Flat Rd to become Tioga Pass Road and cross the highest drivable mountain pass in the Sierras at nearly 10,000 feet high. In this video, we start our journey near the historic Gold Rush town of Chinese Camp, traveling along CA-120 and CA-49 East. We continue on CA-120 via New Priest Grade Road, then pass through Groveland, the main town along this route, known for its lodges and restaurants. After Groveland, CA-120 is commonly known as Big Oak Flat Road, which we follow into Yosemite National Park. We drive through Crane Flat and Tuolumne Grove (stopping at the Winter Closure Gate) before continuing toward Yosemite Valley, where our journey concludes at the Yosemite Falls Parking Area. This video was recorded during the February Horsetail Firefall event, a time when Yosemite implements a timed entry reservation system.
