Corner Canyon bounced back in a big way Friday night, rolling past rival Skyridge 49–14 in a statement performance that showed the Chargers’ balance and toughness on both sides of the ball.
From the opening kick, Corner Canyon controlled the game. Quarterback Helaman Casuga set the tone in the first quarter with a short touchdown strike to Lucas Jackson, giving the Chargers the early edge. Then the floodgates opened in the second. Running back Jackson Carruth pounded his way into the end zone twice, and the defense joined the scoring party when Jayden Pearce scooped up a fumble and raced it back 13 yards for a touchdown. By halftime, Corner Canyon had built a commanding 35–7 lead, and the outcome felt all but sealed.
Carruth wasn’t done, though. The senior back found paydirt two more times in the third quarter, finishing with four rushing touchdowns on the night and powering an offense that kept Skyridge on its heels all game. The defense matched the intensity, forcing five turnovers and never allowing the Falcons to find rhythm. Skyridge managed a pair of touchdowns—one before halftime and another late in the fourth—but the Chargers’ dominance on both sides of the ball was overwhelming.
