In 2017, filmmakers Steve Borst, Rennie Soga and Chris Panizzon set off to make a film about universal basic income. Over the 3 years of principle shooting, they documented stories across the south, highlighting the current impact of our economic systems on people from small town Celina, Tennessee to Jackson, Mississippi and highlight the power of monthly cash via the Magnolia Mother’s Trust guaranteed income demonstration.
