One of my absolute all time favorite mixtures is Edward G Robinson’s Blend:
“A subtle aromatic with a natural smooth Burley nuttiness & flavored Black Cavendish taste. Fruity plum notes are given a flavor push from a hint of Latakia. A touch of liquor makes for a very pleasing top note. A harmonious blend that burns cool and slowly for full enjoyment.”
Thankfully this blend is still made by Sutliff today for pipe-smokers to enjoy! However, it was originally developed by Greenfield & Winther during the late 1940s. The famous mixture was created under Edward G Robinson’s own supervision and he wouldn’t approve and endorse the final iteration unless it would be something he would be proud of and smoke himself. If you haven’t tried the Sutliff version, it is a must as far as I’m concerned! I haven’t met someone yet who doesn’t appreciate this timeless blend!
I managed to procure some time capsules back from the 1940s-Early 1950s before Sutliff bought the rights to the EGR name brand and recipe in the 1960s. Now sit back, kick your feet up, light a bowl of your favorite tobacco in your trusty pipe and enjoy the show, ya see!
This was hands down the best smelling tobacco tin note I’ve ever had the privilege of experiencing. Just, Wow!!!
Swell smokes my friends! 🔥💨💨
