My name is Rachel Hart. I am a physician with Norton. I'm a geriatric medicine physician. So I take care of patients 65 years and older. And my grandfather had Alzheimer's disease, which inspired my interest in taking care of the elderly. Most elderly patients can't always speak up for themselves and they need some sort of advocate.

Geriatricians are trained to deal with frail older adults, multiple medical conditions, multiple social issues and most of them also have problems with memory and dementia. I'm trained to take care of patients with dementia, hospital care for older adults, geriatric primary care and rehabilitation. Those patients, I think, are a special population. They have many challenges and oftentimes they can't communicate their needs with us. So when we take care of those patients, we're also taking care of their families and the stresses that they undergo. And I think the biggest thing that we need to do for those patients is just be willing to listen.

So I'm originally from Glendale, Kentucky. I went to college here in Louisville at U of L. I moved to Ohio for medical school. I went to Ohio University and then stayed for fellowship, both residency and fellowship were at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. And then I moved back to Kentucky after about four years of work in the Akron area.

So I really like to read, I like to cook. Hike. I do yoga and I love to sing. I've been in some kind of musical group probably every year since elementary school.
