📍 Sagano Romantic Train, Kyoto | Japan Vlog Day-04 Pt-02

After exploring the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, we start walking toward a different nearby station, not the one we came from in the morning. Just as we exit the bamboo forest, it begins to rain. We don’t have an umbrella and since it’s still early, most of the shops around are closed. By the time we reach the station, we’re already a little wet 🌧️😅 At the station, we buy a transparent umbrella and take some time to plan our next steps. We book tickets for the Sagano Romantic Train, which is scheduled to depart after about two hours. Since we still have time, we walk toward Tenryu-ji Temple, hoping to explore the temple and its garden. But when we reach there, we realize we’re short on cash. The temple and garden tickets require more than what we have, and with the train departure time getting closer, there isn’t enough time to withdraw cash and come back. So we decide to skip it and head back instead. Sometimes things don’t go as planned, but it truly feels like everything happens for a reason. If we had entered the temple, we would have had to rush through it. Instead, we enjoy a slow walk, try something new to eat, and calmly make our way back to the station 🍵🚶‍♀️ When the train arrives, the excitement instantly kicks in. We take our seats and as the train starts moving, the station staff wave goodbye. Some are holding flowers, while others hold beautifully decorated boards. That small moment feels warm and very special 🌸👋 The train ride itself is peaceful and scenic, though quite short. It takes about 20 minutes one way, and we’ve booked a round-trip ticket on the same train. We had planned to take the open-air boat ride for our return, but it was canceled for the day due to the rain. Because of that, we booked the same train for the return journey instead. I can only imagine how magical this ride must feel during late autumn, when the trees are filled with deep red and golden colors 🍁 Even so, this journey feels calm, beautiful, and truly memorable.
