Описание: Here i'm giving a short intro into CCD and CMOS sensors, as part of my more technical series in my infrared astronomy channel. Both types of sensors translate photons into electrons in a similar manner, but the readout mechanisms differ, which also has implications for the applications of the sensors. For amateur astronomers CMOS sensors will be more important in the future, because they tend to be more cost effective than CCD sensors. i also give some hints how to choose the best sensor for Your application (what do pixel size, quantum efficiencies, full well capacity or read noise for Your image? What is rolling shutter and global shutter?).
