Opposition Presidential candidates of the Forum for Democratic Change and Go Forward have opposed the decision of the Uganda Police to recruit Crime Preventers as Special Police Constables.
Police say the police constables will assist in keeping the peace in the 2016 general election.
Rights groups however warn that reassigning crime preventers will only create a recipe for post election violence.
