Part 2 is here! Time to see the magic happen. In this video, I'm dipping the linens we folded with four different shibori techniques last week into indigo—and walking you through every stage needed to achieve that deep, rich blue we all love.
Here's what we'll cover:
First dips: Into the indigo vat, letting each piece oxidize for 5 minutes
Second dip: Back into the vat for deeper color penetration
Long immersion: 20 minutes of patience while the indigo works deep into the fibers
Oxidation & unbinding: Watching the fabric transform from yellow-green to blue as we unwrap each piece to reveal the stunning patterns underneath
Neutralizing bath: A slightly acidic solution that helps set the color
Rinse and dry: The final step to finish your beautiful shibori
