After his early morning, garden wee, Waffle helps himself to breakfast, grabs his lead and wakes everyone up for walkies; his barking even wakes Mrs Hobbs next door! This morning it’s Simon’s turn to walk Waffle and Evie wants to go too. As she brushes her teeth, Simon pops Waffle’s lead on and accidentally gets pulled down the stairs. Waffle loves walkies! Outside, Simon and Evie realise they’re still wearing their pyjamas. But, oh well - off to the park they go. Waffle wants his ball to chase but Simon and Evie have forgotten it, so Waffle plays fetch with Simon’s slipper instead. During the slipper chase, Waffle bumps into Anaya and her Mum, AJ. Simon and Evie join to say “hello”. As Simon shakes his embarrassment at being caught in the park dressed in Jess’s dressing gown, Waffle spots people playing in the park with a football! Eager to play ball, Waffle runs after it. Simon makes chase after Waffle and when he grabs his lead he’s pulled along on a scooter, soaked by a sprinkler and eventually lands face first in a muddy puddle. Back at home, despite being covered in mud, Simon admits what a wonderful morning he has had spending time with Evie and that Waffle truly is, part of the family. Doug reveals his new ball invention for Waffle that may even help to keep Waffle occupied on mornings when the family want a lie in. Jess gets a phone call. Waffle’s got a place on a puppy training class that starts the very next day… // Evie, Doug, Jess and Gramps take Waffle to his first puppy training class while Simon cleans the house and frantically looks for his missing sock. The family tell Waffle he mustn’t speak during the class. Not only is it unheard of for a dog to be able to talk but he also needs to listen carefully and pay attention to the dog trainer. After a rocky start which leaves poor Jess sliding across the floor, the family discover that Waffle responds best when offered Simon’s favourite sock to smell – how did it get into Jess’s bag? …. Waffle! Waffle starts to react to all of the dog training commands perfectly until his mischievous side takes over and he miaows like a cat, causing chaos amongst the other dogs. The puppy training class comes to an abrupt end! Oh, Waffle! Back home, Evie, Doug and Jess find that Simon has turned the house upside down looking for his missing sock. Jess reveals that Waffle had hidden it in her bag all along. Simon is not impressed but that soon changes when Waffle shows off what he’s learnt in class by sitting, lying down on command…. and miaowing! He’s such a clever dog. As the Brooklyn-Bells praise Waffle, he darts out of the house to see George and brings back Mrs Hobbs’ slipper from next door. Naughty Waffle. Jess successfully prizes the slipper away from Waffle using the smelly sock as a reward but meanwhile, Simon is stuck in the dog flap!
