Wildlife Viewing in Katmai National Park Alaska

Описание: Watch grizzly bears fish for salmon at Brooks Falls and baby birds navigate the rapids packed with salmon swimming upstream to spawn.

Featured wildlife includes: Grizzly Bears (Ursus arctos horribilis), Sockeye Salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka), and Common Merganser (Mergus merganser) female with chicks.

This is a rough edit of the Grizzly bears fishing for sockeye salmon and play fighting at Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park. With my tripod secured among the smooth river stones and my waders on, this is my view of filming the Grizzly bears and from being elbow to elbow(sometimes my face) with other visitors on the viewing platforms. These are my favorite clips from the experience, and it was one of the highlights of my entire life to be in this river, filming bears with this light drizzle of rain.

I was accompanied by my mentor, award winning wildlife cinematographer and musician Mark Emery, with fellow amazing intern, Taylor Schott.

A permit is necessary to leave the trail and film or photograph the bears from the river.
