Tracy Penn - STUDIO VISIT - with a demo in encaustic wax painting

Описание: We visit Tracy Penn's studio in Brooklyn for a demo in encaustic painting. By using found materials, including single-use plastics, Tracy's work comments on the perils of climate change, including the unequal effects on a warming planet will have on climate justice.

Tracy has four paintings in Established Gallery's exhibition "So Says This Tranquil Space" - June 10 through July 3.

Tracy Penn is an environmental artist working in encaustic and found material. She works with up-cycled material to give a second life to the discarded and to raise awareness of climate change.

Tracy did her artistic training at the Art Students League of New York, the International Center of Photography, and the New York School for Interior Design. In addition, she has worked with highly regarded artists to learn the nuance of encaustic.

In a previous life Tracy worked in marketing at the Museum of Modern Art and museum education at the Solomon R. Guggenheim. She has a master’s degree in Visual Arts Administration from New York University.

She has been accepted to the Chateau d'Orquevaux Artist Residency, in Orquevaux, France, for 2022 and was awarded the Denis Diderot A-i-R Grant.

Tracy also works as an independent curator and is curating a booth for Arts Gowanus at The Other Art Fair New York, this summer. She curated an exhibition on Artsy, Art for Environmental and Climate Justice and a show for the Art Gowanus ArtWalk, UPCYCLING: Transforming the Discarded into Art.

Tracy's work has been shown in galleries throughout the northeast and is part of private collections across the country. She works and lives in Brooklyn, New York.
