Towards the end of October 2022 I decided to go to the Dean Forest Railway. A line I know pretty well in an area I know pretty well, but not a line I'd travelled on. Or at least, I don't remember ever travelling on it before this trip.
The timetable at the time ran Northbound trains non-stop through Lydney Town and Whitecroft, stopping only at Norchard on the way up to Parkend. They'd stop at all stations on the way back down. Only being able to buy tickets from Norchard rather than at all the stations meant that I had to do more walking than anticipated, but fair enough, I hadn't read the small print and in fact it was probably for the better that I had to walk up!
At the end of the day, I had time to look around Lyndey Harbour before heading back on the train home too.
