A very warm welcome from your host Kathryn to another video that forms part of my series for the Junk Journal January challenge hosted by @megjournals and @GetMessyArt . What does earth tones mean to you? I have interpreted it as meaning the warm, brown, orange, red and gold tones of the soil type of earth, rather than the colours in the planet. I love these rich autumn colours so much and the addition of a dark mossy or olive green and a rich aubergine purple makes it perfect for using in an antique themed junk journal.

I also love doing paint swatches. I find this a great thing to do when I'm feeling tired or stressed and just want some peaceful art time without having any pressure. I've printed out my swatch sheets on cartridge paper so a stack is always ready to go, then its any paints, a brush and a selection of even two paints and I am happy for an hour, swatching away... xxx Kathryn
