9 providers in Ohio indicted in $1.2M Medicaid fraud scheme

Описание: For the second week in a row, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has announced indictments against multiple Medicaid providers statewide, including several from Greater Cleveland, on felony charges of fraud and theft.

According to a release from Yost's office, eight home-health aides and one mental health specialist are being accused "of stealing a combined $1.2 million from the government health-care program for the needy" by "billing Medicaid for services they did not provide."

The Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, an arm of Yost’s office, investigated the cases and secured the indictments in Franklin County Common Pleas Court.

“Medicaid fraud is both a crime and a moral offense,” Yost said in a statement. “It steals from the vulnerable and undermines our values as a society.”
