Cleveland weather: Frigid on Tuesday with sub-zero wind chills for Northeast Ohio

This extreme cold will be at its lowest tonight. There will be a 12-hour stretch of dangerous wind chills between -10 to -20. Frostbite is likely to form on exposed skin less than 30 minutes.

Temperatures will struggle in the low teens Tuesday with bright skies for most. Lake snow will be exclusive to lakeshore Lake and Ashtabula counties through Tuesday evening. Those locations can see upwards to 2 to 6 inches.

Clouds increase late Tuesday as the next snow chance arrives Wednesday.

Temperatures and wind chills improve into Wednesday. Highs might break the freezing mark for many through the afternoon. Snow will be returning and the "warm up" will be brief. Wednesday's clipper snow will produce another 1 to 3 inches area-wide. The system on Wednesday will also lead right back to more arctic air that settles in for the rest of the week and into next weekend.
