IDMT Relays PlugSettings, Multiple of Settings and TMS - Tutorial 7

Описание: In this tutorial we see how to calculate IDMT Relays Multiple of setting (M), the Time Multiplier Settings (TMS), the Tripping Time (Tc) and the Actual Time (Ta).

Multiple of Settings (M) and TMS are very important parameters of an IDMT relay as its calibrate its timing and allow the Relays to operate under normal load and overload conditions to work in a differential protection together with other upstream relays on the network.
This allow the over current relay to react appropriately when there's a short circuit current at the primary of the current transformer. The TMS settings, tc and ta will prevent 2 relays from tripping at the same time.
Plug settings are important because they set up the sensitivity of the IDMT Relays, this basically tells your relay how sensitive it should be when reacting to a fault on the network.
