Citizens Memorial Hospital's Research Department, led by Neurologist Dr. Curt Schreiber, began donanemab (Kisunla) studies in March 2021, enrolling 15 patients. In September 2024, CMH administered its first infusion of the FDA-approved Alzheimer's drug from that research trial. Kisunla has been shown to reduce amyloid plaques in the brain, which are associated with Alzheimer’s disease.
