Medieval ruins of Lammerside

Описание: Lammerside Castle medieval ruins in Cumbria, Britain.

Originally built in the 12th century then later
rebuilt and strengthened as a Pele tower in the 14th century to provide protection against scottish raiders.

Once  occupied by a branch of the Wharton family, the castle is thought to have been abandoned in the 17th century, after the family moved to the fortified manor, Wharton Hall, near to Kirkby Stephen.

I had to make 2 visits as the first was very very windy as you may see from the camera blowing a bit, and flying the drone was out of the question. It was breezy on the second attempt but managed to get a flight in.
