Billy Calzada
I am a freelancer; I shoot everything from business portraits to social issues to sports and beyond. I attended the University of Texas at El Paso, where I learned photojournalism from Steve Lamoreux, Chad Puerling, Martin Callery, Ray Chavez, Wilma Wirt, Tom Jones, Barthy Byrd and Dr. Larry Johnson. But most of all, I learned from my brothers, Vic and Bob Calzada. We studied visual journalism side by side.
I worked as a staff photographer at the San Antonio Express-News, Orlando Sentinel and El Paso Herald-Post. My work has been published in the New York Times, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated and many others.
