Everything went WRONG on Bali - here's what we learned

Things don't go perfectly in this Bali vlog. It starts with a frisky monkey making a run toward Heather, and Bill in the background hollering "no" at it, like it's a dog. :D Maybe we should not visit the Monkey Forest? Then we head off to walk through the Kajeng Rice Terraces. The rice terraces near Ubud are famous and popular, with good reason! The walk is off to a positively beautiful start, with oodles and oodles of ducks (seriously, so many ducks). We must have missed a turn, because we thought the trail kept going straight, and it lead us to a step ledge that had water on one side and a long fall on the other. After that, we end up in the bottom of a jungle ravine! It's hot and humid - do we just keep going?

After a well earned lunch and swim, the next day we head to town and visit the Ubud Royal Palace (not because we actually intended to, but because we truly thought we were at the Ubud Water Palace - whoops) and the Ubud Water Palace. Both are beautiful! The Ubud Water Palace was especially nice because of it's very unique water gardens, with the largest lily pads and flowers I've ever seen in my life!

Next, we meet up with a Bali cycling tour. The tour was fantastic!! The rain was not. What began as a perfectly clear day ended up with an utter downpour of rain, with nowhere really to shelter because you're on a bicycle! Bill says we got soaked to the bone, and he is not exaggerating. We were, quite literally, 100% soaked. The rice paddies are a completely different experience to have on a bike (so much fun!), and a stop at Ubud's Tegallalang Rice Terraces on the way back was a stunning end to the tour.
