Abhimanyu Vadh, a choreographic exploration in three classical dance styles, by Vanashree Rao, portrays the tragic episode of the death of young Abhimanyu in the death trap of the chakravyuh.
In a few concise scenes, the choreography takes one through different time periods of the epic, beginning with the Dronacharya's lament on the horror of killing a young child, to the Arjun-Subhadra episode where she falls asleep as he narrates to her the secrets of the chakravyuh, to the war scenes in the chakravyuh itself, and ending with Arjun's vow to take revenge on Jayadrath, making it an exhilarating ride through the Mahabharata.
On the 13th day of Kurukhestra war Abhimanyu was killed.
The flash back shows the unborn baby listening to his father Arjuna describing the entry to chakravyuha.
However, he misses the exit plan as Subhadra falls asleep.
Yudhisthira requests Abhimanyu to enter the chakravyuha, when he is entrapped inside no Pandava can enter as Jayadrath guards the door.
He is killed mercilessly by Karna and others under the direction of Guru Dronacharya.
