I had a very interesting discussion on the status of the CHamoru language spoken on Guam and the Mariana Islands with Edward Leon Guerrero from #PulanSpeaks. Some of the things we talked about include: the ancient history of the Marianas, the Spanish and US occupations, the Spanish influence on CHamoru vocabulary, efforts to revive the CHamoru language and of course, CHamoru food.
