Phillip Sear plays an elegy by Moszkowski from a set of 6 Morceaux published in 1909.

Moritz Moszkowski (1854-1925) needs no introduction from me: you can read about his life and work here: http://bit.ly/2axLsRv . The set of pieces from which this comes was written in middle age, when his health was beginning to decline, and he was becoming reclusive. The first three pieces in the set (including this one) were dedicated to Paul Braud (1860-1935), a piano teacher at the Schola Cantorum in Paris. I think that this piece has a characteristic nobility of utterance.
