Holistic Church Growth (Part 1)

Описание: In part one of this teaching I set out five key characteristics of holistic church growth.

1. Jesus-Centered Foundation

• Matthew 16:18 – 'On this rock I will build my church.'

• Colossians 1:18 – 'He is the head of the body, the church.'

Church growth that is not centred on Jesus is not church growth – it’s false worship, based on false teaching.

2. Empowered by the Holy Spirit

• Acts 1:8 – 'You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes
on you.'

• 1 Corinthians 3:7 – 'Only God… makes things grow.'

Without the Holy Spirit’s power,
we will become dried up religious Pharisees.

3. Commitment to the Word of God

• Acts 2:42 – 'They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching.'

• 2 Timothy 3:16 – 'All Scripture is God-breathed…'

A church that fails to teach the full
counsel of God’s Word will be become off balanced, and go into doctrinal error.


4. Authentic Worship and Prayer

• John 4:23 – 'True worshipers will worship in Spirit and truth.'

• Mark 11:17 – 'My house will be called a house of prayer.'

Daily worship and prayer must become the lifestyle of every believer.

5. Discipleship and Spiritual Maturity

• Matthew 28:19–20 – 'Go and make disciples…'

• Ephesians 4:13 – '…become mature in Christ.'

Too many churches fail to disciple believers. Their focus is on numbers not depth.
