We are thrilled to invite you into our Sacred Sound Bath held at Taksu Spa (www.taksu.org) in downtown Ubud, Bali.
Now you get to see and more importantly, you get to hear Kate Wiese play and sing.
Our guests lie down on comfortable mats. We offer a comfy pillow and a blanket and all you’ll need to do is rest in a comfortable position, relax and close your eyes. Kate will guide you through the session with her voice and her instruments.
During a Sacred Sound Bath, also called a gong bath, most people fall into a state of deep relaxation. It’s a pathway to meditation, without knowing how to meditate.
The sounds act as the focal point, reducing and eliminating mind chatter, leading to a release of deep-rooted tensions and emotional blocks. Awareness of sound is used as an anchor for the mind to come back to.
Gong meditation is a unique type of sound practice that involves using therapeutic gong sounds and vibrations to bring about healing. This practice is also sometimes referred to as a “gong bath” because participants are “bathed” in meditation gong sound waves. The goal of “gong meditation” is usually therapeutic; its deeper goal is awareness and non-judgmental appreciation of the present moment.
Sound therapy has long been used to manage a broad range of health conditions. The treatments are based on the understanding that all forms of matter – including our body’s cells – vibrate at different frequencies. Factors such as stress, depression and disease cause cells and organs within our bodies to vibrate at non-optimal frequencies.
Gong sound therapy has been practiced for thousands of years. Today, we know that sacred Sound Baths can help reduce stress and liberate emotional blockages. Many people emerge from the experience feeling lighter, more in balance, refreshed, and rejuvenated.
After the session is over, we offer ample time for each person to wake up (as many people actually fall deeply asleep), and 'come back' into the space. Hot herbal tea is served once everyone is awake. While sharing tea together, guests have the possibility share or to ask questions about their experience, or related to sounds or instruments. Kate is eager to share her ever growing knowledge about the science behind Sound Therapy.
